About Me
My name is Tyler Leisher, I’m twenty-two years old and I’m working towards my career of being an independent film producer and feature film director. I have been working in this industry for three years now, and opted to go the school of life route rather than attend a film school.
While I do plan on attending seminars, courses and other teacher related ways of learning, I’m not attending a specific college for a degree.
I believe that you need a point of view from every angle. As The Thinking Writer puts it, there’s the view from the top (John August), the view from the middle (Thinking Writer), the view from the bottom (Coffee and Celluloid) and now the view from the bottom looking in, the blog of an aspiring producer with no connections, no rich uncles and nothing more than the desire to learn and have a long lasting successful career as a film producer-director.
While this blog is going to feature things about me, my past, future and current projects. It’ll be a learning tool for those in my similar situation, and hopefully one day serve as a path less traveled for those wanting into the industry without spending hundreds of thousands of dollars on a school that keeps your films, forces you to work in a part of the crew that you do not like and forces you to follow their rules.
